November 2010

We welcomed another set of Grandparents in for Thanksgiving. Grandpa Jim and Grandma T came to see for themselves that - yes we were expecting a little bambino. On Thanksgiving Day, we ordered in our Thanksgiving dinner (I'm pregnant - I can't be slaving over a hot stove!). It was surprisingly tasty, and the best part was that there wasn't a whole lot of clean up afterwards. The rest of the weekend was spent sight seeing, gambling, and we even caught The Blue Man Group. Grandpa Jim helped Ryan assemble the nursery furntiture as I gave the directions. We managed to put everything together without a hitch.

Nana and Papi came out for a visit to see how our pregnancy was going. Nana and I spent a good deal of time shopping for our new lil' addition, while the gentlemen stayed home to watch college football. After a great deal of searching (and researching), they helped us decide on a crib and gave us some ideas of what to do with the nursery. A couple of trips to the casino, a night on the town, and Nana's home cooking. What a great weekend.

July 2010

The first test.

A second test - just in case.

"We're pregnant." "That's good."

We thought we wold announce the news to Grandpa Gary by sending him this picture. "Jaime has a bun in the oven."
At 3:00 a.m. on July 3rd, we found out that we were expecting. (Why at 3:00 a.m. you ask - well the pregnancy test said it was most accurate when you used your first pee of the day of course.) When I first saw the words "pregnant" on the strip, I experienced numerous feelings but mostly excitment and fear. I couldn't contain the news, so I thought I would wake Ryan. "Hey Ry." "Hmmm (still asleep)". "Ry." "Yeah." "We're pregnant." "That's good."  It took him a good 30 seconds for the news to set in. Needless to say he had to have an early morning cigarette to help him absorb the news. Once it sunk in - we were both elated.
